Predictive Hiring and Precise Development: A Pathway to Graduate Success

In today's hyper competitive market for top early careers talent, graduates are no longer satisfied with run-of-the-mill career development. They seek more than just a paycheck, craving investment in their future, clear paths for career progression, and meaningful development opportunities.

Providing a Meaningful Graduate Pathway

The era of generic training programs is behind us. To truly inspire and build the capabilities of today's graduates, we need a more targeted approach, making decisions with people data. This is of more importance for early careers talent, where organizations can struggle to harness the strengths of Gen-Z talent, underestimate their value, and find it hard to identify key areas of strength, development and motivation that drive success.

With this context in mind, we’re happy to share that at SHL, we have developed an analytics partnership with Development Beyond Learning (DBL) in the Australian Early Careers market for the benefit of our joint customers.

The combination of SHL and DBL creates a market-leading, end-to-end solution for Australia's premier graduate programs. This partnership represents more than just a business collaboration; it's a vision for the future of graduate recruitment and skills development. Combining predictive analytics with targeted, science-based development programs ensures organizations can meet and exceed the expectations of today's graduates.

The Synergy: SHL + DBL

By joining forces, SHL’s I/O psychology leaders and DBL’s expert learning designers have been able to map the 96 skills measured by SHL’s behavioral assessments in all early careers hiring solutions to the 40 DBL learning modules. Measuring the skills of your early careers talent provides insights into the skills of your talent, their future-readiness, and their potential to drive success in your organization. Fair and accurate decision-making based on the skills that matter will ensure the right hiring decisions are made.

Now by mapping these skills to learning modules, organizations can use and re-use the analytics captured in the recruitment process to streamline onboarding and development. Identifying skills gaps and skills strengths at the individual, stream, and cohort level can ensure investment is directed in the right place, at the right people, and targets the gaps that make the most impact.

“Having mapped SHL’s 96 skills to our modules, we’re predicting that our joint customers are going to see an even greater lift in the impact their graduates have in their roles, after applying what they learn in their DBL development journey”

Matthew Steen, Commercial Director for ANZ at DBL

This follows other partnerships with SEEK and GradConnection to provide the assessment, video interview and analytics for the Top100 Future Leaders Program. In addition, SHL are the exclusive assessment partner of the targetjobs Undergraduate of the Year UK, and GradIreland Undergraduate of the Year, celebrating the UK and Ireland's best undergraduates across a range of award categories.
